Dr Gary Dunderdale is the Experimental Officer for SAF-IC. As Experimental Officer, Gary enables researchers to perform experiments and activities using the SAF-IC facilities.

His role includes overseeing several areas at the centre, including laboratory facility management and research coordination, as well as organising, managing and operating the SAF testing laboratory to ensure research and commercial work is completed efficiently, safely and to the highest standards.

Gary also conducts and reports high quality experimental research work, as well as training staff and researchers in the routine operation of the SAF testing/characterisation facilities and their associated equipment, and in the processing of data.

Gary has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Sheffield, and has a background in both academic and industrial research and experimental support, including in bridging the gap between industrial and academia-based research activity and turning research into a commercial product.
