Dr Andy HeeleyResearch Associate

    Andy is a Research Associate in Hydrogen, including zero-carbon fuels combustion and fuel cells at the Translational Energy Research Centre and the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Innovation Centre.

    His principal responsibilities will be as part of the team developing the Hydrogen, fuel cells and zero-Carbon fuels combustion facilities at the SAF-IC, then using the facility for research and experimentation.

    He has experience in the specification, commissioning and optimisation of high temperature manufacturing processes and associated measurement and control systems, from his time within industrial research & development leading technology deployments in stainless steel and rail production.

    Andy joined the Translational Energy Research Centre after completing a PhD and post-doctoral role at the University of Sheffield, during which he developed fibre-optic coupled infrared thermometry for adverse deployment conditions.
