Sam Allen is the Technical Team Leader for the Translational Energy Research Centre and Sustainable Aviation Fuels Innovation Centre. He has a background in bespoke engineered solutions and product development across a range of industries, including petrochemical, heavy industry, nuclear, and renewable energy, as well as laboratory research equipment.

As Technical Team Leader, Sam manages the technical team to support the installation and commissioning of new equipment, and leads the implementation of planned preventative maintenance programs for existing equipment, whilst also providing specialist technical advice to colleagues where required.

He is responsible for ensuring all activities are carried in line with relevant health, safety, quality and compliance requirements, and supports researchers in conducting research activities.
